ANY one is welcome - we do not 'do boundaries!'

  • Staffordshire Moorlands
  • Staffordshire
  • Derbyshire
  • Cheshire
  • Peak District area
  • Leek
  • Cheadle
  • Biddulph
  • Buxton
  • Macclefield
  • Ashbourne
  • Bakewell
  • Stoke on Trent
  • etc
This group is by no means restricted to people that ONLY live in the Staffordshire Moorlands (as someone once asked)

  • There are the 3 main towns of Leek, Cheadle and Biddulph nearby

  • A third of the northern Staffordshire Moorlands is in the Peak District

  • But being based in North Staffordshire we are also close to the Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire borders

  • and the area to the south borders Stoke on Trent

  • we are only some:-

  • 10 minutes drive from Leek

  • 20 minutes drive from Buxton,

  • 30 minutes from Macclesfield,

  • 30 minutes from Ashbourne,

  • 35 minutes from Bakewell.

Meerbrook village hall was chosen because:-
  • it is only 10 minutes drive from Leek in the lovely Peak District village of Meerbrook

  • it is a lovely quiet spot, with plenty of easy parking

  • has good disabled access

  • good kitchen facilities for a cuppa

  • oh .... and local to the 'organiser' who opens up the village hall, puts the lights on and all the chairs and tables out ready etc!

HOW TO GET TO MEERBOOK VILLAGE HALL.

From Leek:-

  • Take the A53 to Buxton.

  • After about 2 miles you come into 'Blackshaw Moor'

  • The Three Horseshoes Pub is on your left - TURN LEFT for 'Meerbrook' at this junction.

  • Just keep following this road - past Tittesworth Reservoir Visitor Centre and over the water.

  • Into Meerbrook Village and just keep following the same road - past the 'Lazy Trout Pub on your right, the Church on your right, and  then the village is a single story building on the right as you start to leave the village.

  • There is room for parking at the side and front of the village hall.
